Donor eggs for cloning research - another aspect of the culture of death
The London Times reports that the way has been cleared for women to donate their eggs for the purpose of research into diabetes and Parkinson's Disease. Whilst some people, who are not aware of the complications, as well as the implications of this decision, might in fact applaud the decision to clear the way to allow women to donate their eggs for such research, this is in reality another aspect of the culture of death. In light of the Hwang scandal in South Korea, there are questions that need to be raised about the ethics of cloning research, especially in regard to the methods that are being used to get access to donor eggs.
However, there are many women, both pro-life and pro-choice who disagree with this decision. There is a very real danger that women from a poor background might in some way feel coerced into donating their eggs to this research in order to get money. The research itself remains suspect. What is not making the headlines is that there are women who have died whilst their eggs are being harvested for this research. Clearly, this is not a direction that man should be taking. It really is time that women began to look at what is happening and it is about time that they said no to all of these alleged advances. To date there has been no benefit to sufferers of diabetes, arthritis and Parkinsons' Disease, yet these researchers continue with the lie that the research will bring about a cure.
